Productivity, A sweet fruit from Healthy Tree

Productivity, A sweet fruit from Healthy Tree

Though tree is a natural resource, the quality of fruit and type of fruit differs depending on the soil, seed and care. Human skills and behaviors are no less than a tree which is planted  and  grown in a farm for future fruit ready. Just a thought , sharing with u all.

Selecting a right Resource: Selecting a right resource is a hard task, same as choosing a right plant suitable for the soil and climate. I mean, we can not plant an apple tree in South India or in hot climate area and expect tasty and red apple. A suitable resource is very important to an organization  in terms of  skills, culture and attitude. A suitable candidate is like a suitable plant chosen for the right soil and climate in order to expect productivity we want.

“For better fruit better plant and for better productivity a right talent”

Nurturing Talent: If best of the best plant planted and not taken care timely then the plant will die before it turns in to fruit yielding tree. Even in case of Human Resources, if the right talent is not nurtured timely, the resource will be under-productive or non productive. For a plant a timely pesticide, proper water, little trimming through some cuts here and there, protect from birds, insects, etc is a must. It requires wealth and time to be invested. It is true even in the case of  Human Resources. Better salary, Training, better facility, Discipline, appreciations, etc., works like water, pesticides, trimming works for a plant.

“Some fruits are seasonal, after the season the time to be given to prepare itself for the next season, it applies to even human resources”

What I believe is organization is also like a farm, a farm which nurtures the talents a knowledge tree and prepare them to deliver a better fruit. A healthy tree with all the care can prosper better. With guidance, training, motivation and support human resources can be more productive. Every  person has a natural quality and talent, organizations and the management should work towards bringing them out and nurture them. Organizations need to invest time on good resources. Build confidence in them, equip them with advanced techniques, boost morale, address the grievances, take care of the resources and expect better performance.

“If plant a tree and forget to care, it will die a natural death without yielding any fruit”. Productivity is a continuous process, not a one day plan.
