DEAR DOCTOR......[By Vijay Gaddigimath]

We all understand that it has been exhaustive for you since the pandemic has hit the world. It is a super human task accomplished; you have done an extraordinary job. You have put in enormous effort and shown extraordinary determination; the world will always remember this gesture.

Dear doctors, please don't lose hope and don't be offended by petty comments on you. The ordinary people like us still believe in you and thankful for your humane gesture, your kind words, your empathy, your soft hardheartedness, your care and warmth we felt when we were at your door step. Dear Doctors, please unbelieve the negativity of few people as that of whole society's opinion.

Circumstances are the culprit, thoughts and opinions arise out of certain situations. We should give a space for free flow of all kinds of thoughts either negative or positive in order to achieve great things for the welfare of mankind. For example; when it rains, a farmer dances with joy, young kids run in joy to get drenched. But a cotton candy seller won't feel the same; he curses the rain at that point of time. A painter who is busy in painting the walls on roadside may feel annoyed as the rain may ruin his work. Opinions are temporary because of uncomfortable circumstances, but the true gesture prevails. Here I am compelled to give another example, some time rain hits the earth along with tornado and floods which destroys the entire human set up including crops, trees, houses, electricity system, etc. But one thing we should notice that no human being curse rain or hate rain. The rain is source of life, and so are you! The situations and experiences of people lead to form opinions; for sure, the wrong opinion stays for a shorter period of time.

We cannot deny that mischievous people exist in every profession, and medical field is no exception to it. The opinion of people doesn't reflect or covers the entire medical fraternity, but few crooked. But Yes! The mischievous people portray it in that way to get support of the entire fraternity to achieve their maligned agenda.

Dear doctors, we have seen the frustration and outrageous protests of medical fraternity against comments on the medical profession. It is quite obvious to react in such a way. Dear doctors, please don’t take it to the heart. Usually the opinions are formed based on individual experience and those comments do not form opinion on entire community. The mischievous members within the fraternity portray it in such a way that the opinion is universal to hide their mischievous deeds.

Dear Doctor, the common man needs you, looks up to you, seek your support. Someone in some corner has a misconception is exactly like a rooster thinks sun rises because of its crowning. Both are true in its own way and in their space.

I think it is fine to evolve along with nature, let everyone try and bring in new inventions and ideas. After all, evolution is continuous and on-going in every walk of life. Who knows someone who doesn't believe current medical system and can invent something better which may help medical field and human race in future. Or the person may fail miserably exposing himself and his false agenda. My concern is that the sugar cane should never change its true essence of sweetness whether tasted by a pig or a parrot. Doctors are generous and ray of hope for a common man, please don't change yourself and get influenced by internal or external mischievous agendas.
